| David Tarn snippet |
| David Tarn would like to claim to have studied fine art and photography under some of the masters, and in a sense this would be
true, only none of them was ever aware of him as a student. He learned the craft of photography from books and magazines, but most of all in
the field. In the real world by trial and error, and more error than he cares to recall. |

| He would like to claim as well that photography began as a hobby, only that too is not strictly true. Photography began for him as an
excuse, a reason to go out into the countryside more often than would otherwise have been reasonable. |
| He has always sought those moments when the light and land come together and create an unrepeatable moment, that special harmony that is
best appreciated in photography, because only a traditional photograph proves the truth of the moment. Both the grand vista and tiny details of
texture and form appeal to him. The aim is to create images that capture the emotion of the moment. |
